Clean lines, dirty martinis.
To comply with your warranty and protect your investment, a regular cleaning schedule is required.
Environmental factors like salt spray and pollutants can build up over time, so cleaning removes these deposits before they can cause damage.
| property Location | Cleaning Frequency |
| Standard inland environment | Every 6 months |
| Coastal, industrial or geothermal areas | Every 3 months* |
*Properties exposed to sea spray, industrial conditions, or geothermal air require more frequent cleaning to protect the powder-coated surfaces.
How to clean your canopy & blinds.
Frame
Remove Loose Deposits
Use a wet sponge to gently wipe away any loose dirt or dust.
Wash Gently
Use a soft, non-abrasive brush (like a car wash brush) and a diluted solution of a mild detergent in warm water to clean all surfaces.
Rinse Thoroughly
Ensure you rinse all surfaces completely with fresh, clean water to remove any remaining detergent residue.
What to avoid
Never use abrasive cleaners like steel wool, scrapers, or scouring liquids.
Never use aggressive solvents such as thinners, petrol, or harsh chemicals.
Avoid rubbing the powder coating excessively, especially on metallic finishes.
Protect the frame from sunscreens, as some formulas can damage the finish. If construction work is happening nearby, mask the frame from plaster, mortar, or wet paint splashes.
Roof
Polycarbonate Laserlite® Greca roofing (Classic Canopies)
Clean the roofing sheets using a soft sponge or brush with warm water and a mild, neutral detergent. Rinse thoroughly with clean water afterwards.
5mm Polycarbonate Roofing (Linear Canopies)
The Gola Linear polycarbonate roofing is likely to scratch if contacted by a brush or soft sponge so should ONLY be washed using a non-contact water/soap or non bleach wash. Minimise contact with the surface as much as possible.
Never use a brush, abrasive cleaners, or acidic/alkaline detergents.
IMPORTANT: This premium roofing will scratch if not cared for correctly.
Blind fabrics
Remove Loose Deposits
Gently wipe with a wet sponge.
Wash
Use a soft, non-abrasive brush and a mild household detergent solution to clean away dust (or salt if near the ocean).
Rinse
Rinse off completely with clean, fresh water.
Polish (for Clear PVC)
Fingerprints and smudges on Clear PVC can be cleaned using a specialised plastic polish like Vuplex.
Pro-tips to extend the life of your blinds.
Ensure blinds are dry before rolling them up for extended periods to prevent moisture damage.
Always roll blinds up during periods of very high or damaging winds to protect the fabric and components.
Your warranty may become void if damage is caused by leaving blinds rolled up while wet or leaving them down during extreme winds.
The aluminium channels and other hardware on your EziGuide™ or Ziptrak® blinds should be cared for in the same way as your powder-coated canopy frame.
