Papamoa Lantern Restaurant

Papamoa Lantern Restaurant

Papamoa’s newest eatery Lantern has been described as a hidden tropical oasis where you can sample delicious Southeast Asian cuisine in the heart of the beachside village. Co-owner Jimmy Wheeler approached Anna Scotland and Jason Horton at Archgola BOP to help realise his vision for Lantern. He wanted to create a relaxed dining environment, in a tranquil garden setting, that would feel like a local hangout.

Typically known for its arched canopies, Archgola can provide a range of roofing shapes and designs. The gable design was used for both the covered entrance and the dining area. In total, 70 sqm of shelter was required for both locations in the restaurant. A striking combination of a Dulux Applicance White powdercoat finish and Solar Ice Suntuf roofing tint provided an impressive finished effect. The roofing tint will provide 99.9% UV ray protection and protect guests from 65% of the summer heat.

  • We spoke with a few companies about our design ideas. We wanted something to work with the space we had, and Archgola was able to create a design to suit. Installation was quick with minimal business interruption. The customer space is living up to our dreams. The high roof really opens up the area, creating a great dining environment with efficient airflow, which was a key consideration, as well as fitting into our overall garden scape theme. We couldn’t be happier with the final result.
